Literary criticism
Tip for researching an author: Whether you are searching in a database for magazine articles or the Library’s online catalog, remember the following:

• When you are searching for information about the author, search the author's name as a subject.
  
• When you are searching for works written by the author, search the author's name as an author.

World Almanac Another handy source for statistices - especially international data, sports data, and popular culture

Health Statistics (DHHS) Best site for medical and health statistics in U.S.
