- Email is another option that can save on printing
costs, since many databases and websites allow you to email articles to your email
account.
Computer Classes:
Our classes are small in size and designed to help patrons
use the Library’s computer-based resources (Internet, databases,
online catalog). All classes are single-session classes, usually
running about 60-90 minutes in length.
- Mouse Mania – a practice session for learning to use a
mouse
- Beginners Internet – elementary class for patrons with
little/no experience using a computer. Students should be familiar
with a keyboard and know how to use a mouse.
- Email – covers basic features of email for communicating
with family and friends. Includes demonstration of a free email
service.
- Intermediate - covers PDF files, copying content to/from a website, email attachments, flash drives and tips for new Internet users.
- Online catalog class – how to search the Library’s
online catalog with ease and confidence, request books from other
libraries, and check your record.

In addition to classes, patrons can find mouse and Internet tutorials, games for practicing mouse skills, and typing tutorials in Practice sites for Internet skills (part of our Senior Living section).
Filtering:
We do not filter our Internet stations at this time. Patrons are
responsible for the Internet content they access or view. Parents
are responsible for what their children access or view on the Internet.
For more information, see our Internet
Use Policy.
Note about the Library’s Internet service provider
(ISP)
Illinois Century Network, serving schools and libraries, is our
